Reciprocity with Other States
The Texas Appraisal Licensing and Certification Board no longer enters into reciprocal agreements with other states. Pursuant to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, TALCB now honors reciprocity with any state that is in good standing with the ASC. Appraisers licensed or certified in another state may seek a Texas appraiser license or certification through reciprocity if:
- You are currently certified or licensed in another state at the same level in which you seek licensure or certification in Texas;
- You satisfy the Board as to your honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness; and
- You complete and submit the form entitled Application for Certification or License by Reciprocity, a current License History/Good Standing Letter and the appropriate filing fees as designated on the form.
