The TALCB is a nine-member board composed of four real estate appraisers and four public members appointed by the Governor for staggered two-year terms. The Executive Secretary of the Texas Veterans Land Board is the ninth member. Day-to-day administration of the agency is vested with the Commissioner, who is appointed by the Board.
