Note: Applicants who plan to upgrade their certification in the near future must be aware of the AQB changes to the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria that will take effect January 1, 2015. Because the requirements for a residential appraiser include 24 months of experience and the requirements for a general appraiser include 30 months of experience, a person who may later wish to upgrade to a residential appraiser under the current requirements must obtain a license (not merely submit an application) no later than December 31, 2014, and a person who may later wish to upgrade to a general certification under the current requirements must have obtained a license no later than June 30, 2012.
